It was a deliberate choice to remain a mystery
The fact that the game's design remains essentially not changed the game Diablo II: Resurrected speaks of the depths. Players continue to wander around Diablo II: Revisited's dark tombs and haunted forests with no direction of where they're supposed to be. Contrary to the majority of contemporary RPG, Diablo II: Resurrected isn't equipped with quest markers. Each time a player logs in to Diablo II: Resurrected, their map will change. In the event that they have saved their games inside within the Den of Evil to have dinner, then when they return the game, they won't be inside of the Den of Evil anymore. The Den of Evil will be moved.
"The method of playing is to explore everything," says Gallerani. "It's quite different than bringing the map up in Google Maps and following the dots."
Gallerani claimed that it was a deliberate choice to remain a mystery. Diablo II: Resurrected would make players think about what games were in the past or perhaps teach players who didn't exist at the time of 2000 about what's missed. It's not common in the modern world of games to need an item to be able to identify an object.
For instance, in Diablo II: Resurrected, the player may not be aware of the specifics of the rare dagger until they discover the Scroll to Identify and then manually apply it onto the item. In the same way, during Diablo II's Beta phase, Vicarious Visions devs received messages from players who asked what they can't do with their bow or arrow. Have you got an arrow quiver? developers asked. They didn't, but players would answer with a resounding "Why did I even bother? Aren't there endless Arrows? "Everything that happens in this game can be extremely real," says Gallerani.
