Diablo 2 was supposed to have a sequel

For those who aren't familiar, Diablo 4 is the new entry in the iconic action-RPG genre that's coming soon for PC, Xbox platforms, and PlayStation 4. There's not a release date at present, but Activision already stated it was likely that Diablo 4 will not come out in 2021.

But while the difficulties associated with Blizzard North's doomed Diablo are fairly well-documented--with Brevik describing it as an ARPG mixed with an MMO--this second Diablo expansion isn't as well-known.
