COBIT: what is it?

If you are wondering about COBIT what this technology is and what it can bring benefits to the IT sector, rest assured, because you are not the only one having doubts about the subject.

Explaining better what this technology is, by centralizing COBIT and studying it in detail, two terms appear that with greater representativeness are information management and governance.

Governance aims at simplicity and transparency for processes, while information management deals with a large volume of data and its complexity, crucial for the success of the business.

In addition to these elements, COBIT also allows IT management to generate value for decisions, automating processes and ensuring that those responsible act more strongly in the strategic field.

Discover, in this post, a practical concept of this framework, its applications and how it can revolutionize your IT management !

Information Technology Analyst has to recognize the areas for improvement within IT infrastructures. They have to participate in team meetings actively and give intelligent inputs to improve efficiency.

COBIT what is this technology?
Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) is a framework model created by ISACA, in 1996, with the objective of offering guidelines for the development of the business from the optimized management of its information.

Initially, its focus was to establish control of objectives for financial audits that were being impacted by the increasing use of technologies in organizations. Its versions, however, have been improved to cover other areas of activity and also include more technical and governance controls.

Its most current version, COBIT 5, was developed through optimizations of the previous ones and with attention to the new demands of control, allowing, even, that other frameworks could be used together, such as ITIL, CMMI and TOGAF.

In addition to allowing the incorporation of such IT management models, COBIT 5 contributes more strongly to its unique focuses: security, IT governance and risk management.
